You’ve heard it through the grapevine here … through the wreath grapevine, that is.
Make the most out of one wreath during the hectic holiday season, when time seems to morph into one big rolling snowball, with these simple, and I mean really simple, ideas for dressing up a wreath.
I used one wreath made of grape vines decorated several ways for these quick, easy, budget-friendly and versatile ways to make the most out of a wreath for Autumn, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I started off with this 18-inch grapevine wreath, from Walmart priced under $5, but you can use any kind of plain wreath. Because I wanted a brighter look, I lightly painted the brown grapevine wreath using white chalk paint. It only took about five minutes to paint and dried quickly.
Paint your wreath any color or just leave it in its natural state. They usually come with some leaves still attached, which give such a rustic look, even when painted.
If you’re a fan of wreaths, you can’t go wrong with personalizing your own. It’s so easy and you don’t have to go out and buy several new wreaths for each season.
Decorate with items you already have, such as bows or ornaments that you like.

Or if you want something simple for any season, just hang it up with nothing on it.
With the light coat of white paint, the wreath looks as if a dusting of snow fell over it. That would be a magic miracle for Florida, but it has happened.
Dressed For Fall
As I mentioned, use whatever you have in the way of decorations to personalize your wreath. Below I used some dollar store signs from this year and last year.
This little sign with a red truck carrying a giant pumpkin sparkles in the light and fits nicely into the wreath.
Dressed For Thanksgiving
This little Thanksgiving sign with scalloped edges on the bottom conveniently hangs right over the wreath.
The orange wreath hanger in the picture above is also a dollar store find.
Here’s another Thanksgiving and fall weathered-looking sign that captures the mood with sentiments: Harvest Blessings, Hayrides, Corn Maze, Pumpkin Pie,Apple Cider and Thanksgiving.
Dressed For Christmas
I seem to gravitate towards red trucks lately, but isn’t this red truck hauling a Christmas tree home, really cute?
How about wrapping a faux garland of holly berries and leaves around the wreath? It’s a classic and so simple. It’s from Old Time Pottery.
I found this sweet little holly bow with bells that jingle at the dollar store and placed it in the middle of the wreath.
So every time the door opens, there’s a faint, magical little jingle.
Wait, what?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen and … Rudolph?
Is Somebody already in the neighborhood? Believe!
Now add some twinkle lights to the garland and the bells and it looks magical at night. I used twinkle lights from last year in the shape of pineapples, because … Florida!
And here’s a little Christmas sign, also from Old Time Pottery.
The decorating possibilities are endless and don’t have to cost a lot.
Enjoy your own creations!
